Hi, my name is Brandon and I'm a Korean-American tattoo artist and owner of Kkachi Tattoo LLC (kah-chee). Kkachi is the Korean word for Magpie, a bird that symbolizes good fortune, sturdy spirit and is a provider of prosperity and development. I'm based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I specialize illustrative black and grey and stylized Japanese tattoos, with an emphasis on fine detail and high contrast.

I work out of 3VOL Ink in West Allis, at 7143 W Greenfield Ave. You can briefly view my work here under "portfolio" or head to my instagram for the complete display of my work @kkachitattoo

ABOUT

BRANDON YOO

I've been drawing and making art since I was able to hold a pencil. I've explored many different mediums, styles, and forms of art throughout my life such as; graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, chalk pastel, clay, wire, photography, videography, and much more. In my senior year of high school, I received a National Silver Medal in Illustration from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and had my work on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum. However, I decided to chase a different dream of mine, photography. I attended Columbia College Chicago the following year, a liberal arts school, as a photo major with a minor in film making. It was during my second semester of my freshman year that I got my first tattoo at a Friday the 13th flash event. Tattoos and the art of it all had always fascinated me, but that day a fire was ignited in me that I couldn't ignore. Shortly after, I made the decision to not enroll for my sophomore year, and instead go back home to Milwaukee to pursue tattooing by getting an apprenticeship. I luckily got into a shop a few months after dropping out, and spent a little over a year as an apprentice. In the beginning of 2023, I made the decision to become an independent artist.

Tattooing gives me purpose in life and I wouldn't choose to do anything else. It's a constant challenge, and I'm always learning and improving to be the best artist and tattooer I can be. I love the idea that with some ink and and a needle I can put my artwork on someones body, and create a positive impact and change in their life. It's a privilege and honor to receive the trust to do so, and I couldn't be more grateful to be able to do this for a living.
