Hi, my name is Brandon and I'm a Korean-American tattoo artist and owner of Kkachi Tattoo LLC (kah-chee). Kkachi is the Korean word for Magpie, a bird that symbolizes good fortune, sturdy spirit and is a provider of prosperity and development. I'm based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I specialize in a stylized approach to illustrative realism and Japanese tattoos, with an emphasis on fine detail and high contrast. I am also familiar with other styles, such as anime, black and grey realism, and Neo traditional.
I work out of 3VOL Ink in West Allis, at 7143 W Greenfield Ave. You can briefly view my work here under "portfolio" or head to my instagram for the complete display of my work @kkachi_tattoo.
I've been drawing and making art since I was able to hold a pencil. I've explored many different mediums, styles, and forms of art throughout my life such as; graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, chalk pastel, clay, wire, photography, videography, and much more. In my senior year of high school, I received a National Silver Medal in Illustration from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and had my work on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum. However, I decided to chase a different dream of mine, photography. I attended Columbia College Chicago the following year, a liberal arts school, as a photo major with a minor in film making. It was during my second semester of my freshman year that I got my first tattoo at a Friday the 13th flash event. Tattoos and the art of it all had always fascinated me, but that day a fire was ignited in me that I couldn't ignore. Shortly after, I made the decision to not enroll for my sophomore year, and instead go back home to Milwaukee to pursue tattooing by getting an apprenticeship. I luckily got into a shop a few months after dropping out, and spent a little over a year as an apprentice. In the beginning of 2023, I made the decision to become an independent artist.
Tattooing gives me purpose in life and I wouldn't choose to do anything else. It's a constant challenge, and I'm always learning and improving to be the best artist and tattooer I can be. I love the idea that with some ink and and a needle I can put my artwork on someones body, and create a positive impact and change in their life. It's a privilege and honor to receive the trust to do so, and I couldn't be more grateful to be able to do this for a living.
Please make sure you have carefully and thoroughly read my FAQ for my booking process and policies. Any messages or requests sent while my books are NOT open will not be addressed unless its regarding flash. Please see my instagram for updates on when my books are open.
